Traveling to Jinja offers breathtaking views of lush sugar and tea plantations, complemented by the vibrant street food scene featuring roasted chicken, roasted plantains (gonja), and fresh garden fruits. Our first stop is Sezibwa Falls, a culturally significant location in the Buganda
Kingdom, known for its intriguing folklores surrounding the river and the falls. The locals come here to worship and visit traditional healers for blessings.
After, we embark on the hike through Mabira Forest, where you will learn about the rich heritage the forest. The forest is also a prime location for birdwatching, as well as spotting beautiful butterflies, primates, and diverse tree species.
Off to River Nile and a stop at the Jinja bridge to observe the peaceful beauty of River Nile, then proceed for a boat ride to the “Source of the Nile” at the submerged Rippon Falls. This is where
the Nile begins its epic 4,000-mile journey from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea. The boat ride lasts between 30 minutes to an hour, providing a chance to see the point where the Nile separates from the vast waters of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa.
